Gelligaer Ramblers
No Hill Too High
wp9ad0dd64.png
An easy walk of 5 miles around Penallta Park and the surrounding area. The walk was led by Tom Thomas and was blest with very clement weather after the recent rains.
Return to recent walks

Found in the woods, so Mostyn tells me, completely lost

The star attraction of the park is a horse lying on its side sculptured out of the ground.  Just like the Nascar Lines, the horse is best seen from about 500 foot above, the picture below does not give a great view but is better than none

Saturday  13th Sept. Autumn Colours
Autumn Colours

There were twelve and a half  walkers taking part, as you can see our group caters for all ages.

As you can also see, even these easy walks can be too much for some of us.

Autumn colours were definitely found along the way and two other points of interest were the memorial placed at the top of the park and the rocks bearing the stories from the now closed Penallta Pit.
